Newsom rolled out a new political ad set to air in Florida starting July 4, fueling speculation the West Coast leftist may be mulling a 2024 presidential run. But Team DeSantis scoffed at the tactic, and suggested voters aren\u2019t likely impressed by Newsom\u2019s stewardship of California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGavin Newsom might as well light a pile of cash on fire,\u201d Dave Abrams, a spokesperson for DeSantis\u2019s re-election campaign told The Daily Wire. \u201cPass the popcorn for his desperate attempt to win back the California refugees who fled the hellhole he created in his state to come to Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ad is being paid for by Newsom for California Governor 2022. According<\/a> to the Los Angeles Times, it is Newsom\u2019s first television spot of the general election. It is scheduled to run on Florida\u2019s Fox News cable zones beginning on Independence Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt\u2019s Independence Day. So let\u2019s talk about what\u2019s going on in America,\u201d Newsom says in the 30-second spot. \u201cFreedom is under attack in your state. I urge all of you living in Florida to join the fight \u2014 or join us in California, where we still believe in freedom: freedom of speech, freedom to choose, freedom from hate, and the freedom to love. Don\u2019t let them take your freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The idea that Floridians would leave the Sunshine State to go to Newsom\u2019s California goes against accelerating patterns that show the exact opposite.
