{"id":2749,"date":"2026-06-20T14:13:53","date_gmt":"2026-06-20T14:13:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sfawbn.com\/home\/?p=2749"},"modified":"2026-06-20T14:13:54","modified_gmt":"2026-06-20T14:13:54","slug":"dhs-scrapping-new-deportation-mega-facilities-despite-38-billion-spending-spree","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sfawbn.com\/home\/2026\/06\/20\/dhs-scrapping-new-deportation-mega-facilities-despite-38-billion-spending-spree\/","title":{"rendered":"DHS Scrapping New Deportation Mega-Facilities, Despite $38 Billion Spending Spree"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/assets.alexjoneslive.com\/2026\/06\/20113811\/infowars-images-89.webp?ssl=1\" alt=\"INFOWARS IMAGES (89)\" class=\"wp-image-12912\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) <a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2026\/06\/19\/us\/social-circle-dhs-warehouse\">is scrapping plans<\/a> to create a number of deportation mega-facilities, despite a $38 billion plan for expanding detention capacity.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the facilities is in Social Circle, Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe City of Social Circle has received notification from Congressman Mike Collins that the Department of Homeland Security\u2026 is no longer pursuing an ICE detention facility within the City of Social Circle,\u201d the local government&nbsp;said in a statement&nbsp;Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Originally, the facilities was planned to house up to 10,000 detainees\u2014more than twice the population of the city\u2014in addition to over 2,000 employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The facility cost the federal government $128.5 million, more than four times the price paid for it in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udea8REPORT\ud83d\udea8<br><br>7 ICE deportation warehouses purchased for more than $700 million will now be sold or transferred to other federal agencies.<br><br>I reached out to DHS and asked them about this and they DID NOT deny the NYT report:<br><br>\u201cFrom day one, DHS has remained singularly focused on\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/tWrgmwkMGq\">pic.twitter.com\/tWrgmwkMGq<\/a>\u2014 Breanna Morello (@BreannaMorello) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BreannaMorello\/status\/2067778998738841925?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 19, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to <em>The New York Times<\/em>, a total of seven facilities, from New Jersey to Utah, will be scrapped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DHS began to rethink the plans to extend detention facilities after Homeland Secretary Kristi Noem was replaced by Markwayne Mullin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s unclear what DHS will do with the facilities, many of which have been subject to legal challenges to prevent them from being repurposed for detention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFrom day one, DHS has remained singularly focused on removing the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from the United States and is always evaluating the best methods to do so,\u201d a spokesperson said in a statement to CNN on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThese heinous criminals, once arrested, should be removed at lightning speed, not housed on American soil at the taxpayer\u2019s expense.
