as Trump lavishes him with praise"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">30 December 2025 19:35 GMT<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/platform-cdn.sharethis.com\/img\/sharethis.svg\" alt=\"sharethis sharing button\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There may not have been concrete deliverables on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.middleeasteye.net\/topics\/israel-genocide-gaza\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gaza<\/a>&nbsp;from the meeting between&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.middleeasteye.net\/countries\/us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">US<\/a>&nbsp;President Donald Trump and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.middleeasteye.net\/countries\/israel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Israeli<\/a>&nbsp;Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, but one thing is for sure: Trump is receiving yet another trophy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Netanyahu said he is awarding Israel&#8217;s highest cultural honour, the Israel Prize, to the US president &#8220;for his tremendous contributions to Israel and the Jewish people&#8221;.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It has never been awarded to a non-Israeli citizen before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not to be outdone, Trump lavished Netanyahu with praise, repeatedly calling him a &#8220;wartime prime minister at the highest level&#8221;.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;He can be very difficult on occasion, but you need a strong man,&#8221;
