{"id":2357,"date":"2025-08-16T14:06:04","date_gmt":"2025-08-16T14:06:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sfawbn.com\/home\/?p=2357"},"modified":"2025-08-16T14:06:05","modified_gmt":"2025-08-16T14:06:05","slug":"fbi-ignored-dem-whistleblower-on-schiffs-alleged-criminal-leaks-to-smear-trump","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sfawbn.com\/home\/2025\/08\/16\/fbi-ignored-dem-whistleblower-on-schiffs-alleged-criminal-leaks-to-smear-trump\/","title":{"rendered":"FBI Ignored Dem Whistleblower On Schiff&#8217;s Alleged Criminal Leaks To Smear Trump"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/inline-images\/90-3-e1639672136869-696x350.jpeg_80.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Adam Schiff \/ PHOTO: AP<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The whistleblower\u2019s warnings were nearly immediately dismissed, <\/strong>according to a newly released FBI memo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The documents\u2014first <a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/government\/congress\/exclusive-democrat-whistleblower-told-fbi-schiff-approved-leaking-classified?utm_medium=social_media&amp;utm_source=mail_social_icon&amp;utm_campaign=social_icons\">reported<\/a> on Monday by Just the News and shared with Congress by FBI Director Kash Patel\u2014detail how the DOJ shielded Schiff, D-Calif., from prosecution for allegedly leaking classified intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the FBI memo, <strong>the whistleblower\u2014a self-described friend of Schiff\u2014called the leaks \u201cunethical,\u201d \u201cillegal,\u201d and \u201ctreasonous.\u201d <\/strong>He was &nbsp;then told \u201cnot to worry about it because <strong>Schiff believed he would be spared prosecution under the Constitution\u2019s speech and debate clause<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Notably, neither the solicitor general nor the attorney general had made that determination, Just the News noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, DOJ officials showed little interest in pursuing the whistleblower\u2019s leads, even parroting Schiff\u2019s constitutional defense to justify their failure to prosecute him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The whistleblower told the FBI in 2023 that he attended a 2017 meeting where Schiff personally authorized leaking classified material.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<strong>When working in this capacity, [redacted staffer\u2019s name] was called to an all-staff meeting by SCHIFF<\/strong>,\u201d an interview report said, as quoted by Just the News. \u201cIn this meeting, SCHIFF stated the group would leak classified information which was derogatory to President of the United States DONALD J. TRUMP. <strong>SCHIFF stated the information would be used to indict President TRUMP.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Worse still, when the whistleblower \u201cstated this would be illegal and, upon hearing his concerns, unnamed members of the meeting reassured that they would not be caught leaking classified information,\u201d according to the 2023 interview report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Patel blasted the conduct as yet another example of abuse of power in a bid to undermine Trump after his 2016 election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<strong>For years, certain officials used their positions to selectively leak classified information to shape political narratives,<\/strong>\u201d Patel said. \u201cIt was all done with one purpose: to weaponize intelligence and law enforcement for political gain.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<strong>Those abuses eroded public trust in our institutions<\/strong>,\u201d the FBI director continued. \u201cThe FBI will now lead the charge, with our partners at DOJ, and Congress will have the chance to uncover how political power may have been weaponized and to restore accountability,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Schiff issued a meandering statement attacking the whistleblower\u2019s credibility and painting himself as a victim.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThese baseless smears are based on allegations that were found to be not reliable, not credible, and unsubstantiated from a disgruntled former staffer who was fired by the House Intelligence Committee for cause in early 2017, including for harassment and potentially compromising activity on official travel for the Committee,\u201d Schiff said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added: \u201cEven Trump\u2019s own Justice Department and an independent inspector general found this individual to not be credible, have \u2018little support for their contentions\u2019 and was of \u2018unknown reliability,\u2019 and concluded that his accusations against Members of Congress and congressional staff \u2018were not ultimately substantiated\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The whistleblower\u2019s warnings were nearly immediately dismissed, according to a newly released FBI memo.
